Rahul thus became part of an elite club of batsmen along with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, and MS Dhoni to have crossed the 5,000-run mark in the IPL.

Rahul has been one of the most important reasons why this season has turned out to be a good season for the Delhi Capitals. In the match against LSG, he remained as cool as a cucumber, scoring a calm half-century for the team, reaching fifty with 40 balls. His innings were instrumental in the DC victory by a clean sweep of eight wickets on what was an effortless chase of the 160-run target with 13 balls to spare. This performance by Rahul is a testament to his brilliant form in IPL 2025, wherein he has amassed 323 runs in seven games with an average of 64.60 and a strike rate of 153.80.
His presence brings stability to the batting lineup of DC, especially during this most critical part of the season when they are fighting for a place in the top four. His willingness to cut through innings when it calls is precious for the team. Before taking on LSG, he had put up some crucial performances against Royal Challengers in Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings, flaunting his prowess when the pressure is on.
