IPL: Chennai Super Kings CEO Opens Up On MS Dhoni’s Future With The Team
MS Dhoni

Legendary wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni took retirement from International cricket and left fans disheartened. However, fans can still witness his greatness in yellow jersey when he plays for Chennai Super Kings in the India Premier League. CSK’s CEO feels like former Indian skipper Dhoni will play for the franchise for more couple of years.

MS Dhoni himself confronted while playing the last match IPL 2020 that it ‘definitely wasn’t’ his last game. Also, next year in the IPL 2021 MSD was seen leading the CSK franchise and winning 5 out of 7 games.

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni turned 40 on Wednesday 7 July, he received warm wishes from all around the globe. While talking about the future of CSK captain Dhoni, CEO Kasi Viswanathan asserted:

“He can continue for another one or two years with CSK. He is fully fit, trains a lot. Don`t see any reason why he should stop.”

Notably, Dhoni may not be in his best form with the bat considering the age factor. However, he has players like Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran whom Dhoni promotes in batting to bat ahead of him. Also, the all-rounders deliver the best performance for their captain while batting up the order.

Meanwhile, Dhoni is still a sharp-minded captain who threatens the opposition team. Mahi’s captaincy skills and tactics are top-notch and behind the stumps, he is still lightning fast as he used to be. Ms. Dhoni will be seen leading three times champs in the second half of IPL 2021. The second leg of IPL 2021 is all set to take place in UAE in September- October.

“As far we are concerned, we are happy for what he is doing for CSK. It is not just about his captaincy or the fact that he is a guide or a leader as the most experienced player. We feel he is still good and brings value as a player to the side. He has been a finisher and is doing that for us,” added Viswanathan.

MS Dhoni-led CSK placed second in IPL 2021

The Chennai-based franchise made a great decision by promoting Moeen Ali at the top order. The experiment of sending all-rounder at no.3 has turned out to be an exceptional thing for CSK. The same CSK who failed to chase 160-170 runs in IPL 2020 due to failure of the middle order, has become a reckoning force in IPL 2021.

With the strong middle order, CSK now has the potential of putting 200+ scores consistently. Fortunes completely changed for CSK in IPL after their middle-order batting got strong.
