Former Team India cricketer MS Dhoni was spotted driving in Ranchi on his 40th birthday on Wednesday (July 7). The cricketer likes to stay low and had a small party in his Ranchi farmhouse in the presence of family and friends.

While he is not frequent on social media profiles, the craze among fans is unparalleled. While the entire cricket fraternity came down to wish the legendary cricketer, some lucky fans got a glimpse of MS Dhoni on his birthday.

In the footage captured by fans in Ranchi, MS Dhoni was spotted driving his 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV (GLC 220d) which has the number plate ‘0007’, reflecting his birth date. As fans surround MSD’s car, the 40-year-old can be seen waiting for them to capture pictures and also waved to them before leaving.

MS Dhoni to stay in CSK for one or two years: CSK CEO

Since Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket, there have been speculations that he might well hang his boots in the IPL as well. While his stocks have gone down as a batsman, MS Dhoni still continues to impress with his presence on the field.

As speculations continue to rife, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed that Dhoni can continue for a couple of more years.

“He can continue for another one or two years with CSK. He is fully fit, trains a lot. Don`t see any reason why he should stop,” Viswanathan said.

“As far we are concerned, we are happy for what he is doing for CSK. It is not just about his captaincy or the fact that he is a guide or a leader as the most experienced player. We feel he is still good and brings value as a player to the side. He has been a finisher and is doing that for us,” added Viswanathan.

MS Dhoni-led CSK are currently placed 2nd in the now-postponed IPL 2021. They will look to continue the good job when the tournament resumes in September in the UAE.
