Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has predicted the future of Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Responding to a fan’s question on Twitter, Hogg stated that if due to some circumstances Chennai Super Kings don’t retain Dhoni he will turn into a coach. The world cup winning spinner believes that Dhoni is Maharaja of CSK. Also, Hogg opined Dhoni will never leave Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Meanwhile, the reports regarding the new dynamics of the IPL 2022 mega auction have come out. According to a report of Times of India, a franchise can only retain four players in the team. However, teams can either retain 3 Indians and 1 overseas or two Indians and Two foreigners.

The MS Dhoni case in IPL 2022 auction

Chennai Super Kings skipper is an important asset for the team. However, the management has to take a tough decision regarding his retention in the 15th edition of IPL. If CSK retains the legendary cricketer they will go to the auction table with a deduction of 15 crores from their purse.

Dhoni will soon be 40 and might not have much cricket left in him. There is a high possibility he will not be part of the playing XI for the upcoming 3 seasons of the tournament. So CSK has to take a wise decision regarding Dhoni’s situation.

There is no doubt MS Dhoni has been a game-changer for CSK. Finding a captain like him will be a tough job for the franchise. The only thing going against Dhoni is the age factor. He can also opt for the role of coach for CSK. Under his shadow, CSK can continue to dominate and manage to reach new heights in the Indian Premier League.
