MS Dhoni and his side looked at their very best today in IPL 2020. Chennai Super Kings surpassed Royal Challengers Bangalore at Dubai and won convincingly.

The 22 yards was tailor-made for the bowling attack of CSK. They used the pitch to their advantage and bowled brilliantly in the first half. For RCB the prolific duo of Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers was once again amongst the runs.

Chennai Super Kings Win By 8 Wickets

Both Kohli and De Villiers batted sensibly but could not provide the finishing touches. The RCB skipper scored yet another half-century against CSK and took his side to a par total of 145. MS Dhoni used his bowlers well and Sam Curran was the most successful CSK bowlers as he picked 3 wickets for just 19 runs.

It was anticipated to be a close chase as the pitch was anticipated tp becoming challenging for batting. However, CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis took advantage of the power play and gave CSK a flying start.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, in particular, showcased his spark and batted with calm. The right-handed batsman scored his maiden half-century and anchored the chase till the very end and scored 65 from 51 balls.

Along with his skipper MS Dhoni, Gaikwad remained unbeaten as CSK registered their 4th win of the season. Here’s what the winning skipper Dhoni said in the post-match presentation.

“I felt this one was one of the perfect games. Everything went to plan, and the execution was there. We kept picking wickets, and kept them to a total that was slightly below par. The wicket was on a slower side, and the spinners did a good job. We haven’t been very consistent with the batting. Today the start was very good. Ruturaj Gaikwad batted well. He backed himself to play the shots he is known for,” MS Dhoni said.

“Looking to time the ball, if you look for four, you can get six. It does hurt when you don’t do well so you try to amplify certain emotions. So that the guys just don’t drop the game. That can leave with 12 painful hours of the remaining time in the tournament. You have to enjoy the game no matter where you are on the table. If you are not enjoying the cricket, it can become cruel and painful. So I am glad about how the youngsters have responded”, said MS Dhoni after the win.
