English speedster Jofra Archer is known for his previous tweets that resemble the current situations as well. And, his tweets have gone viral on many occasions and the same happened on January 11 when Team India Test captains Virat Kohli failed to score a hundred in the ongoing third Test against South Africa.

After batting first, Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul both struggled to score runs at first. The South African bowlers successfully removed both the openers. Duanne Olivier dismissed Rahul for 12 runs whereas Kagiso Rabada removed Mayank as well. Kohli joined Cheteshwar Pujara in the middle after Mayank’s dismissal.

However, Pujara and Virat Kohli stitched 62 runs for the fourth wicket before Marco Jansen sent Pujara in for 43 runs off 77 balls. While the visitors lost wickets from one end, Kohli kept scoring runs. Fans also witnessed a glimpse of old Kohli as he played his signature cover drives too. Kohli even smashed a six off Rabada’s bowling which was also the only second six hit by him in the last 29 innings as well.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli hit the third ball of the 73rd over and his innings of 79 runs which came off 201 deliveries came to an end as well after wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne took the catch. While he tried his best, lack of partners, on the other hand, saw his dismissal and once again he failed to score a ton.

With this, Jofra Archer’s old tweet came into the limelight and went viral in no time. On December 1, 2013, Archer added on Twitter:

“Got to score a ton somehow.”

However, Virat Kohli is playing the 99th Test match and his last Test century came against Bangladesh in November 2019 as well and he smashed his last ODI century in August 2019. Since then, he couldn’t convert his starts to a triple-digit score so far.
