Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by seven wickets in the 2nd Qualifier at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Jos Buttler played a brilliant knock which helped Rajasthan chase the target in a comprehensive manner. Rajasthan Royals would face Gujarat Titans in the finals of IPL 2022.

Jos Buttler played an amazing knock of 106 runs in 60 balls. While chasing the target of 158 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a flying start to Rajasthan. He scored 16 runs in the first over of the powerplay which put Bangalore on the backfoot. Soon Buttler too joined the party and cashed on the field restrictions. 

The 31-year-old attacked Shahbaz Ahmed and Mohammad Siraj in the powerplay. Later he also smashed Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga in middle overs. The best part about Buttler’s innings was the calculated risks he took. He ensured that he kept one end safe with the required run rate in check.

Jos Buttler reached his fourth century of IPL 2022 in 59 balls and equalled the record of Virat Kohli for most centuries scored in a single IPL season. Now Buttler has scored 824 runs in IPL 2022 at an amazing average of 58 and an impactful strike rate of 151. Cricket fans appreciated this amazing consistency of Buttler.

The 31-year-old has set the 15th edition of the IPL on fire with his breathtaking knocks. After a blistering start, Buttler witnessed a couple of low scores before getting his rhythm back in the playoffs.

Shedding light on expectations before coming to India at the post-match presentation ceremony, Buttler said, ” I came into the season with very low expectations, but with a lot of energy and excitement and to be stood here now and have the season I had with such a great team and get us into the finals is incredibly exciting. I had a tournament of two halves. I had some really honest conversations with some close people around me.”
