Two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will begin their IPL 2022 campaign against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium. Having finished runner-up in the last season, Kolkata will be desperate to go all the way this time around.
Coming into the auction, KKR had retained Venkatesh Iyer, Varun Chakravarthy, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. The franchise was clear in their intentions heading into the IPL 2022 mega auction and they got their business right from the start, bagging Shreyas Iyer‘s services, who was later appointed as the captain.
KKR have also brought back Pat Cummins, Nitish Rana and Shivam Mavi in their side. They also have added exciting hitters like Alex Hales and Sam Billings which makes the side look exciting.
