While the pacers have taken all the praise, former India cricketer Madan Lal believes skipper Virat Kohli deserves more credit. Lal heaped praise on the India skipper for backing his pacers even in adverse conditions to instil a sense of confidence in him.

“The way Virat Kohli encouraged the pacers, no other captain has done it. I can bet on this. When you have a good pace attack. Going back 15-20 years, India did not win these many matches. Now you’re winning it because of the pace attack.

Meanwhile, Madan Lal has been a staunch supporter of Virat Kohli’s aggression and urged others not to criticise. Incidentally, Kohli loves to keep his emotions on his sleeves which has earned him severe criticisms. But Lal believes that this has worked well for the India skipper and he should continue with his natural instincts.
