Former England Cricket Team skipper Michael Vaughan has showered heaps of praise on Team India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar calling him the most skillful white-ball in the world at present. The comment came in the wake of Bhuvneshwar’s excellent turnouts in the recently-concluded T20Is series guiding India to a 3-2 win followed by a spectacular victory in the first ODI.

The fast bowler from Uttar Pradesh returned to international cricket after a gap of more than one year. He was slated for a return during the tour of Australia but an untimely injury during IPL 2020 in the UAE extended his stay out of the national team. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was exceptional on his return finishing as the most economical bowler in the T20I series and bagged the Man of the Match award in the 5th T20I for his outstanding figures of 2/15 in a high-scoring game. In the first ODI as well, he registered figures of 2/30 helping India script a comeback to win the match by 66 runs.

“Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the most skillful white-ball bowler in the world. I can’t think of any other [bowler] that bowls at 80-odd miles an hour and has that white ball moving as he does. There’s no one I know that can just get the ball to subtly move like Kumar can. Whether it’s outswinger, the inswinger, the cutters.

“He can bowl the yorkers and the bouncers. Not often but when he wants to unsettle a batsman, he’ll bowl a bouncer. I don’t know of a more skillful bowler. At that pace around the world. When you think he’s coming back from an injury, a remarkable comeback for Bhuvneshwar Kumar,” Michael Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

Team India will want Bhuvneshwar Kumar to keep up the good work with the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 scheduled to take place later this year in India.
