Mohammed Shami has now become the cornerstone of Indian pace attack. Shami has improved leaps and bounds in the last few years. Even Micheal Holding, the great West Indian fast bowler is also been impressed by the India fast bowler. Shami has immense control over his line and length that makes him a potent force in all formats.

In Test cricket with Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma, Shami has helped win all around the world. According to Holding, Shami has been so successful because of the fact he doesn’t ball many bad deliveries. The Bengal pacer is hard to get away as he gives the batsmen no freebies. Mohammed Shami is relentless with the ball in hand and keeps plugging away in the right areas.

Micheal Holding recently praised Shami on Sony Ten pit show in a video that was uploaded on their Facebook page. Holding said the Indian fast bowler creates pressure on the opposition batsmen. He keeps the runs under control by bowling a consistently good line and length deliveries.

Holding stated “It is important to have pace, but you got to have control as well. Shami is not extremely tall or extremely quick but is quick enough. And he has the control and can also move the ball around a bit”.

“You don’t find Shami spraying the ball all over the place. When a bowler sprays the ball all over the place, batsmen get relief watching those balls go away. If you are consistently bowling in the right areas, attacking these batsmen, it creates more and more pressure, which makes them more liable to make mistakes. So that is Shami’s real strength”, Holding said.

The 29-year-old fast bowler of India is now a regular for team India in all formats. Shami has so far picked 180 Test, 144 ODI and 12 T20I wickets respectively in his career.
