Yesterday Kings XI Punjab outclassed Delhi Capitals and defeated them by 5 wickets in IPL 2020. Their star fast bowler Mohammed Shami played a critical role in their third consecutive win this season.

Post the victory the skipper of KXIP, KL Rahul lauded his spearhead and pointed out that Mohammed Shami this year has a lot more clarity about his role.

Mohammed Shami As Senior Bowler Has Put His Hands UP- KL Rahul

Rahul stated that Shami being a senior international player understands that he needs to set the bar for all youngsters. Mohammed Shami in the 10 matches so far has scalped 16 wickets but especially in the last three matches, he has produced his best during crunch moments.

“Look we all know that what Shami can do on a given day. He has been doing that for many years now. I think this year, there is a lot more clarity and he has put his hand up as a senior bowler”, KL Rahul said.

“It is important that internationals across teams put their hands up. That makes the team lot better and youngsters can feed off that”, KXIP skipper added about Shami.

“You start winning a lot of games and it’s great to see Shami doing really well and touchwood the ball is coming out of his hand as perfectly as ever. Hopefully, he can get more wickets for the team and keep bowling the way he is bowling,” Rahul concluded.

KXIP Can Still Make It To IPL 2020 Playoffs

Meanwhile, by winning their last 3 matches KXIP is still in contention to qualify for IPL 2020 playoffs. Against Mumbai Indians, Shami produced a magical super over that eventually helped them clinch a nail-biting match. If KXIP can win their remaining 4 matches, they will most probably finish 4th after the league stages.

Furthermore, Mohammed Shami will have a pivotal role to play if KXIP needs to progress further in IPL 2020. KXIP will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday at Dubai International stadium.
