In a piece of good news for all Mumbai Indians fans, all the players and support staff have been tested COVID-19 negative. There were huge concerns in the Mumbai Indians camp after talent scout and wicket-keeping consultant Kiran More was tested COVID-19 positive. Now, More will have to be isolated away from the bio-bubble of the franchise for 10 days till his COVID-19 results are negative.

According to ANI after More was tested positive Mumbai Indians training session for Tuesday was cancelled and all the players and support underwent COVID-19 tests as they were in the same hotel as More in Chennai. Luckily, all COVID-19 tests turned to be negative all the players are likely to return to training from tomorrow.

“Mumbai Indians’ scout and wicket keeping consultant Mr. Kiran More has tested positive for Covid-19.Mr. More is currently asymptomatic and has been isolated. Mumbai Indians and Kiran More have followed all the BCCI health guidelines. The MI medical team will continue to monitor Mr. More’s health and abide by the BCCI protocols”, MI said in a statement.

Now the focus will be on the action once against as MI will prepare for the season opener showdown against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The 5-time IPL champions will be facing the popular RCB side on April 9 in Chennai. Rohit Sharma’s side has always had an edge over Virat Kohli’s side which they will be looking to maintain when they face them in the opening encounter of IPL 2021.

Furthermore, after a spike in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, the BCCI have kept Hyderabad as a backup option to host IPL 2021 matches. The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is expected to host 10 IPL games this season with the first match being between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings on Saturday.
