Former India Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been named in the list of celebrities released by Pandora Papers regarding his financial dealings. Tendulkar is listed as a ‘Beneficial Owner’ of the British Virgin Islands (BVI), which is an offshore entity.

The Pandora Papers have also named several other prominent names such as pop music star Shakira and Indian Businessman Anil Ambani.

“People linked by the secret documents to offshore assets include India’s cricket superstar Sachin Tendulkar, pop music diva Shakira, supermodel Claudia Schiffer and an Italian mobster known as ‘Lell the Fat One’,” stated the report in The Indian Express.

However, the attorney of Tendulkar has stated that all of Tendulkar’s investments are legitimate in nature, and have been declared to the authorities.

“Mr. Tendulkar’s attorney said the cricket player’s investment is legitimate and has been declared to tax authorities,” added the report.

Sachin Tendulkar is been called the ‘GOD OF CRICKET’ and is considered as one of the greatest batsmen of cricketing history.

Tendulkar is considered by many as one of the greatest willow wielders that the game of cricket has ever witnessed. The ‘God of Cricket’ amassed a plethora of records in his prominent 24-year career.

He is the highest run-scorer in both Tests (15921) as well as ODI cricket (18426) and remains the only batsman in cricket history to have accumulated a whopping 100 international centuries. He’s represented India in 664 International matches, the only player to do so.

Sachin Tendulkar was also a part of the victorious Indian squad that won the ICC 2011 World cup head in India.

The little master retired from Cricket at the age of 39, after being the highest run-getter of all time, most centuries (110), the most number of Test matches and many more tremendous records to his name. Sachin Tendulkar was also awarded the ‘Bharat Ratna’ award in 2014, India’s highest civilian honour, and remains the only Indian sportsperson to date to have been bestowed with the award.
