Rajasthan Royals (RR) have set up an IPL 2022 final date with Gujarat Titans (GT), beating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Qualifier 2 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Jos Buttler scored a fine century to chase down 158 runs with 11 balls to spare.

The RR opener has amassed 824 runs in IPL 2022 at an amazing average of 59 and an impactful strike rate of 150. He has single-handedly carried the batting line-up of Rajasthan Royals. The talismanic run-scorer has smashed four fifties and four centuries in IPL 2022.

Jos Buttler has also equalled the record of Virat Kohli for most centuries in a single IPL season. Mohammad Kaif explained the reason behind the success of Jos Buttler in this IPL season. He said that Buttler has given respect to the good balls and picked the right bowlers to attack which has given him success.

“Buttler’s recipe to success: First pick the right bowlers, respect good balls, focus on short boundaries and finally play the shot most suited for the occasion. Baaki namak, masala swaad anusaar,” Mohammad Kaif tweeted.

“I had a tournament of two halves ” – Jos Buttler opens up about his IPL 2022 campaign

The English cricketer played a brilliant knock of 106 runs in 60 balls while chasing the target of 158 runs set by RCB. He looked in great touch throughout the innings and will hope to keep the momentum going in the final.

Incidentally, this is for the first time since IPL 2008 that Rajasthan Royals have reached the final of the Indian Premier League. Jos Buttler in the post-match presentation thanked the Rajasthan Royals management for showing trust in his abilities.

“I had a tournament of two halves. I had some really honest conversations with some close people around me, Kumar Sangakkara and Trevor Penney. I was feeling a bit of pressure, getting distracted and I was trying to suppress it and it was only until a week ago or so I opened up inside and talking about that made me feel a lot better going into Kolkata and that innings gave me the confidence that helped today,” Buttler said.
