As the Pakistan Super League (IPL) 2021 is set to resume in June, the Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday, April 28, hosted a replacement draft to replace the overseas players who have pulled out of the tournament. The six teams got the chance to refill their squads with available foreign players. The remainder of the PSL 2021 will be played from June 1, and the final to be hosted on June 20. All the matches will be played in Karachi. Before the league kicks off, the teams need to assemble on May 23, and quarantine for a week.
Many star foreign players have signed off because of the travel restrictions and the rising number of coronavirus cases in the subcontinent. After Tom Banton has pulled himself out, West Indies superstar Andre Russell has been roped in by Quetta Gladiators. Russell is now in India taking part in the Indian Premier League. As the IPL playoffs will commence on May 25, and the final being played on May 30, Andre Russell might be late to join Gladiators.
Russell’s Kolkata Knight Riders teammate Shakib Al Hasan has replaced spinner Rashid Khan in Lahore Qalandars. Some Australian players like Usman Khawaja, Joe Burns, James Faulkner, Callum Ferguson are now a part of the PSL.
