2 players from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Teams have been suspended in AbuDhabi. The first cricketer is from the team Peshawar Zalmi; Haider Ali and the other one is also from the same team. They will not be able to. to play against Multan Sultans on Thursday for the tournament final. Both the players admitted that they have violated the health and safety protocols by meeting people from outside without any social distancing.

The incident took place on Wednesday and the decision was made quickly on early on the morning on Thursday by the COVID-19 management panel of tournaments comprising of Barrister Salman Naseer (PCB, Chief Operating Officer) and Babar Hamid (Director – Commercial, and PSL 6 head).

“The two cricketers were found not to have interacted with any other squad members at any time after the incident and have been placed in room isolation,” stated an official release.

Haider Ali withdraws from upcoming England tour

Meanwhile, Haider Ali has withdrawn his name from the upcoming England and West Indies tours. Sohaib Maqsood has been announced as replacement of Haider Ali in the squad for the two upcoming tours by Chair of the Selectors Muhammad Wasim, in consultation with captain Babar Azam and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq. Pakistan team will play 3 ODI and 8 T20i and 2 Tests.

Sohaib has had a very good season of PSL, in which he has scored over 350 runs in 11 matches with an impressive average of 40.33 and strike rate close to 153. He is an experienced player and has represented his national side in 26 ODIs and 20 T20Is, with his last T20I appearance being in 2016 against the Black Caps.

Pakistan is all set to play three ODIs and three T20Is in England from 8 July till 20 July and after that , they will face off against West Indies in 5 T20Is and 2 Tests.
