Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which has a capacity of 90,000 fans, was sold out when the tickets for high-octane India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 game went for sale. People from both nations passionately support their teams, and the atmosphere is unreal whenever these arch-rivals lock horns.

It is so loud that sometimes players can’t hear each other on the field. This game has always been a high-pressure game for both nations. Any form of interruption in this encounter will be disappointing for all fans.

MCG has been a host to several thrilling games, and now they can add the most significant battle to the list of matches the stadium has already hosted.

India vs Pakistan – Weather Report in Melbourne on Sunday

However, Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology has said there is a 90% chance of showers in Melbourne on Sunday, October 23, during the India-Pakistan match. The possibility of showers is just increasing with time.

This is not good news for the fans, given that people travel worldwide for this game. The World Cup can’t afford to have an abandoned India-Pakistan match.  A minimum of five overs is required to play out a T20I match. Moreover, there are no reserve days for the group stage.

The encounter at Melbourne is of paramount importance for both teams as they expect to begin their respective T20 World Cup campaigns with a win to set the momentum for the rest of the tournament.

It’s a rare occasion when the two teams play multiple times in two months. The previous two encounters had fulfilled nail-biting games, and both teams won a game each. This game will see which team has the potential to rise on the world stage.

The previous edition observed that India could not make the last four of the tournament due to a poor start. This is a feat that they wouldn’t want to repeat in consecutive world cups.

The India-Pakistan match is scheduled at 1:30 pm (IST)and 7 pm (local time).
