The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced shifting the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) to UAE. In the wake of it, Rajasthan Royals (RR) dig out an old tweet from fast bowler Jofra Archer to welcome the decision.

More than 3 weeks after IPL 2021’s suspension, Sourav Ganguly & Co confirmed its fate and confirmed that the season will conclude in UAE. The remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021 are likely to take place in September-October. However, BCCI is yet to reveal the full schedule of the tournament.

Soon after the BCCI made the mega-announcement, a Jofra Archer’s tweet from 2015 went viral on social media. His IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals, also took note of the tweet and shared it on its timeline. Archer is quite popular on social media and his old tweets have often gone viral.

Meanwhile, Jofra Archer, who had joined the franchise in 2018, was ruled out of IPL 2021 due to an elbow issue. He was set for a return but chose to remain absent as the elbow injury aggravated. Even if he is fit by September, Archer will skip the league as England have a packed schedule going into the T20 World Cup. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has already confirmed that it won’t allow the players to skip the international season.

Rajasthan Royals, who won the league in 2008, was placed at the 5th spot in the points table before the tournament was suspended. The team management had made a big call before the season by releasing former captain Steven Smith. Sanju Samson was handed the team’s charge. They will look to bounce back in the 2nd half of the competition and fight for a playoff berth.
