The upsurge of the coronavirus pandemic has led to a lockdown in various places across the globe. Celebrities and renowned personalities are trying their best to raise awareness among the fans in a bid to contain the deadly virus from spreading.

The pandemic, as declared by the World Health Organisation, has resulted in cancelling of many global events. The streets are put under curfew with offices being shut and people assigned work from home jobs. The number of positive cases in India have seen a stark rise in the last few days. The number of positive cases have almost touched 500 with a death toll of nine so far.

The cricketers have played an active role in increasing the awareness to resist the pandemic. Recently, Gautam Gambhir donated Rs 50 lakh from his MPLAD fund to Delhi government hospitals to buy basic amenities while Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan distributed 4000 masks among the needy. And now, Ravichandran Ashwin has changed his Twitter name to spread awareness among his fans and followers.

Ashwin has been constantly urging the population to stay inside their homes to tackle the virus. He even went further and changed his username to ‘lets stay indoors india’ to raise awareness about the situation. Ashwin has been pretty vocal about the measures that need to be taken during this period and this was another step in that direction.
