Ravichandran Ashwin and the former skipper of India MS Dhoni always shared special moments in the middle either for India or Chennai Super Kings. They understand each other quite well, which helped them to give breakthroughs for the team more often than not. Speaking about MS Dhoni, Ashwin revealed how the captain cool motivated him during ICC Champions Trophy 2013.

Ashwin revealed that every cricketing individual will go through ups and downs in their respective career. He added that they need motivation during the downfall, which will help the individual to make a bounce back. Revealing a few, Ashwin narrated how MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar used to help him.

With cricket coming to a standstill, the players are taking it to social media to interact with fellow cricketers as well as fans. “Sachin came up to me and said, you’re bowling really well in the nets, bowl like this when you get your game as well,” it was one of the key moments of Ashwin, who later took his game to next level in all formats of the game.

Later, during ICC Champions Trophy 2013, “Dhoni came and told me in the first game of the CT 2013 that I was bowling fantastically even though I didn’t pick up a wicket,” R Ashwin added.

Recently, in an Instagram live, Ashwin also shared a moment when MS Dhoni helped him to get the wicket of Jonathan Trott with his tactic. Reminiscing the dismissal, Ashwin told that Dhoni had come up to him and suggested him to stay around the wicket while bowling to the Englishman. As expected Dhoni’s advice worked wonders as Trott was stumped in Ashwin’s over.

It was the last successful campaign for the Indian National Cricket Team in an ICC event. Later, India tried hard and reached the final stages of every ICC events but failed to lift the trophy.
