Ravichandran has made giant strides in the latest ICC rankings. After his brilliant all-round show in the second Test against England, Ashwin has entered the top 5 all-rounders in the latest ICC rankings. The Indian off-spinner picked 8 wickets in the Test and also scored a memorable century on his home ground at Chepauk.

Ashwin was adjudged the player of the match as he made match-winning contributions with both bat and ball. Now he has jumped a couple of spots and entered the top in the all-rounder’s rankings for Test matches. Also, Ashwin has gone ahead14 places to 81st in the list of batsmen, and while he remains seventh among bowlers after yet another brilliant Test with the ball.

Ashwin is the second Indian all-rounder in the top 5 behind Ravindra Jadeja who is at the second spot. The seasoned Indian off-spinner has 336 points and is only being Jason Holder, Jadeja, Ben Stokes and Shakib Al Hassan. Apart from Ashwin two other India that made gains in the latest rankings are Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma.

Rishabh Pant is now ranked number now at a career-best 11th position in the Test batsmen rankings. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma who scored arguably his best century in whites has helped him gain nine places to reach 14th position, his best since November 2019. The highest-ranked Indian batsman is still the Indian captain Virat Kohli who is in the 5th position.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin has picked a 5 wicket haul and scored a ton in the same Test 3 times is now only next to Ian Botham who achieved this rare feat 5 times. Ashwin will be hoping to continue his splendid form with both bat and ball in the remaining two Tests against England. The third Test between India and England will be played at Ahmedabad between 24-28 February.
