Rohit Sharma is arguably the best opening batsmen in the world right now. His magnificent record speaks for himself. With three double hundreds in ODIs, he holds a distinct record in today’s time. Few experts are of the opinion that Rohit Sharma is a naturally gifted timer of the ball due to his sublime flow.

Other than being a star batsman for India, he’s also the most successful IPL captain in history. He has guided Mumbai Indians to four IPL titles ever since taking over from Ricky Ponting in 2013. The only person who is second to Rohit Sharma is the former Indian skipper and current Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni.

The swashbuckling batsman from Mumbai is currently the Indian vice-captain and lies 2nd in the ICC ODI batting rankings. His skipper Virat Kohli is first in the rankings. As the captain of the Indian side, Rohit has had temperamental success as India had won the 2018 Asia Cup and the Nidahas Trophy under his leadership.

Recently, in a question-answer session on Twitter, a fan asked Rohit Sharma to pick one bowler from the past he would like to face.

Glenn McGrath

“If you’ve to pick one Bowler from the past, whom you would like to face. Who’ll be that one Bowler?” a fan asked on Twitter.

Rohit Sharma without a doubt selected former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath. He expressed his desire to face him since McGrath is one of the modern-day greats. His control over line and length makes him one of the greatest in history. He’s currently Australia’s highest wicket-taker in ODI cricket with 381 scalps.

Unfortunately, when Rohit Sharma began his international career in 2007, the same year Glenn Mcgrath bid adieu to international cricket. He ended his career on an all-time high with the 2007 World Cup trophy.

As of 2019, Rohit Sharma finished as the highest run-scorer in the year 2019. He also broke the record of most centuries in a World Cup by scoring 5 of them in the 2019 World cup. The gun batsman will be next featuring in the IPL which will take place in the UAE starting from September 19.
