Murali Vijay and Parthiv Patel are back to the Indian side in whites as the BCCI announced the squad for the Australia tour. The list also included Indian limited-overs star Rohit Sharma who last played a test in South Africa earlier this year.
However, Siraj and Mayank who received call-ups for Windies series aren”t named in the side. This now makes a fully right-handed top order barring wicket keepers Pant and Parthiv. Ishant Sharma who recovered from his injury is all set to lead the pace attack in the series down under.

The opening duties will be shared between the two of KL Rahul, Vijay and Shaw. The BCCI chose not to alter the middle order consisting of specialists Pujara, Kohli and Rahane. Hanuma Vihari, Pant, Parthiv and Rohit are named as a part of the lower middle order. The spin trio of Jadeja, Ashwin and Kuldeep cemented their spot in the sides and it will be interesting who makes up to the playing XI in the pace-friendly Aussie pitches.

The Indian side hasn”t won a test since a decade at Australia. This will be one of the best opportunities for Kohli and Co. to create an impact as the Aussie side is really puzzled about a playing XI. The presence of five pacers in the squad is really a boost but how to create a winning combination assessing the pitch conditions will be a question mark.
Meanwhile, the T20I squad hasn”t seen any change from the Windies series as Skipper Virat Kohli is included in the place of Shabaz Nadeem.
