Fielding has been of top class in IPL 2020 and it has been getting better with each passing day. Chennai Super Kings player Ruturaj Gaikwad took it one step ahead when he grabbed a diving catch on the mid-wicket to dismiss Kings XI Punjab’s Jimmy Neesham.

Putting into bat first, Kings XI Punjab looked completely out of socks against Chennai Super Kings bowling. Mayank Agarwal, who returned to the playing XI from injury and KL Rahul got a steady start before Chennai ran a rampage. They lost Mayank, Rahul, and Nicholas Pooran in a span of 20 runs to put themselves in serious trouble.

Chennai kept up the pressure removing the dangerous Chris Gayle and Mandeep Singh. Reeling at 108 for five, Kings XI Punjab were in dire need of a partnership from Jimmy Neesham and Deepak Hooda. But a brilliant effort from Ruturaj Gaikwad ensured Chennai Super Kings continue their dominance.

Ruturaj Gaikwad takes a brilliant catch

It was an ordinary delivery from Lungi Ngidi as Jimmy Neesham flogged it across the line towards the longer part of the ground. The fielder at deep mid charged at it towards his right. Ruturaj Gaikwad covered enough ground and got hold of it.

The youngster gave a pool like dive and then the flourish with the dive when the elbows hit the ground was wonderful as well. Ruturaj Gaikwad continues to stake the claim that he will be the torch-bearer for CSK in times to come.

Struggling at 102 for six, Deepak Hooda provided a much-needed impetus to put something on the board. The all-rounder remained unbeaten on 62 runs from 30 deliveries including three fours and four sixes to help Kings XI Punjab post 153 runs on the board.
