Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishna took 4/54 in his ODI debut against England in the first game against the visitors. Prasidh’s heroics helped India won the game by 66 runs after the openers put 136 inside the first 15 overs. The KKR pacer took 14 wickets in the Vijay Hazare trophy which was what paved his way into the Indian ODI squad for the series. Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar was hugely impressed by the India pacer’s debut performance.
Prasidh’s exceptional comeback impressed Akhtar. In the latest video on his YouTube channel, the former cricketer said that the Indian quick delivered a ‘miraculous’ spell. He hailed his comeback after he was expensive in his first spell of a couple of overs.
“I’m very happy to see that Prasidh Krishna has made a very impactful comeback in the first ODI against England. As a fast bowler, you need to show your attitude, your guts, your talent and skill to bounce back once you are down after leaking too many runs. But the way he scalped 4 wickets, very well done and keep it up,” Shoaib said on his YouTube Channel.
Shoaib Akhtar further hailed the Indian bowler saying that he is not Krishna but Karishma (miracle). Prasidh’s inclusion in the ODI squad was a measure of the depth of quality Indian bowlers in domestic cricket.
He is Karishma: Shoaib Akhtar On Prasidh Krishna
“He’s not Krishna, he’s ‘Karishma’ (miracle). The way he came back after getting beaten by the England openers and scalped four wickets is miraculous” Akhtar said.
The Indian pacer, who worked with the Australian legend Glenn Mcgrath said that the stint at the MRF Pace Foundation under him worked to his advantage. Krishna has been included in the Indian XI for the second ODI which is currently being played in Pune.
“The difference he made was to bring in that aura of calmness and also he was very specific about the line and length with respect to different pitches. He always spoke of being consistent. The first thing I picked from him was to remain in the present under all circumstances as it is the most important aspect for a bowler when you are playing a game,” Kolkata Knight Riders official website quoted Prasidh as saying on McGrath’s contribution to his career.
