The Delhi Capitals defeated the Chennai Super Kings in a one-sided contest in IPL 2020. Chasing a total of 176, CSK were never in the match as the DC bowlers exerted constant pressure. The Shreyas Iyer led side defeated CSK by a massive margin of 47 runs.

No CSK batsmen were unable to bat freely, as a result, the required rate kept on climbing. The spin duo of Axar Patel and Amit Mishra were economical in the middle overs whereas Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje bowled hard lengths and picked wickets at regular intervals.

Questions will once again be raised regarding the batting position of Dhoni who batted at 6 when the game was done and dusted. This is CSK’ second loss in a row whereas DC has now won both their matches in IPL 2020.

Meanwhile, Shaw top-scored for the Capitals with 64 runs from mere 43 deliveries. Piyush Chawla was the pick of CSK bowlers as he 2 wickets and gave away 33 runs.

Here’s what the winning captain Shreyas Iyer had to say in the post-match presentation:

“I am really happy with the performance. I would give them the benefit of doubt, is tough to catch in these conditions. You misjudged the ball, really don’t know how to pace yourself. In the team meeting, we decided that we are going to assess the batting conditions early and then play accordingly”.
