The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has included prominent cricketers like Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah in its 2025 Registered Testing Pool (RTP). The RTP now features 14 cricketers from both the men’s and women’s teams, alongside athletes from other sports.
This strategic move to expand the RTP with high-profile centrally contracted players reflects NADA’s unwavering commitment to strengthening its anti-doping framework.
According to a report by the ‘Times of India’, the men’s team players included in the RTP are Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Arshdeep Singh, Sanju Samson, and Tilak Verma.
The women’s team is represented by Renuka Singh Thakur, Shafali Verma, and Deepti Sharma. The decision is set to take effect immediately, with NADA’s Dope Control Officers (DCO) scheduled to collect samples from selected players during the upcoming white-ball series against England.
Reports suggest that the DCOs will visit multiple venues throughout the series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also been apprised of these developments.

NADA introduced the RTP system in 2019, naming five cricketers from both the men’s and women’s teams. However, all five failed to provide their whereabouts for testing the following year but were let off with a warning.
The BCCI attributed the lapse to a technical glitch on the website, which hindered players from updating their whereabouts, further complicated by the COVID-19 lockdown delaying resolution.
In 2020, Prithvi Shaw tested positive for Terbutaline, a banned substance, and was suspended despite claiming it was consumed unintentionally. Other players, including Yusuf Pathan, Pradeep Sangwan, and Anshula Rao, have also faced BCCI suspensions for doping violations.
