India tour of Sri Lanka scheduled to start on July 13 is likely to be postponed after covid cases emerged in the Sri Lankan camp. The white-ball tour is now expected to commence on July 17 or 18.
According to the earlier schedule, the three ODIs were to be played from July 13 to 18 followed by the three T20Is which were scheduled from July 21 to 25 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The three-match ODI series is now likely to start on July 17 or 18, with the host board wanting the players to serve an extended period of quarantine for its personnel.

The decision comes after batting coach Grant Flower and a team analyst were recently tested positive for COVID-19 on their return from the England tour. Incidentally, seven members of the England ODI squad including three cricketers, who were a part of the ODI series against the Islanders tested COVID-19 positive.
The cricketers underwent tests upon arrival in Colombo and were isolated. The quarantine has now been extended after COVID cases emerged among the Sri Lankan contingent.
The members of the Sri Lanka cricket team are under quarantine and will not be able to practice before the start of the international fixtures.
“We can’t help the situation. These are the kind of times we are living in, team will have to follow all health protocols as directed by the authorities. Yes it is correct the players who will be selected from the squad who were in England are unlikely to get net session before 1st game against India. The good part is none of them have tested positive in the 1st test”, Pramodya Wickramasinghe, Sri Lanka’s selector said.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will convey the revised schedule to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on July 10 (Saturday).
