SL vs IND 2021: Malti Chahar Praises Brother Deepak Chahar After Batting Masterclass

Deepak Chahar led the charge as Team India pulled off an incredible victory in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Wishes poured in for Chahar soon after the match but it was his sister Malti Chahar’s heartfelt note that grabbed the maximum attention.

India were in a spot of bother losing all their top batsmen with 100+ runs still required to cross the line. Although it looked like a difficult task, the cricketers believed in themselves and the result is there for everyone to see.

Deepak Chahar stitched two crucial partnerships – 33 with Krunal Pandya and unbeaten 84 with Bhuvneshwar Kumar to take India home. An inexperienced Sri Lankan side lost the match in the last few overs.

Malti Chahar lauded Deepak Chahar for his brilliant knock in the 2nd ODI in the wake of an exciting victory. A model by profession, Malti is a very well-known name. She has been in the stands on numerous occasions supporting India and Chennai Super Kings. She wrote on Twitter:

“And you did it brother Won the match for India and heart of every Indian @deepak_chahar9 You are a star, keep shining.”

“This is the kind of innings I’ve been dreaming of” – Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar admitted that there was no better way to win a match for your country at the end of the game. He also thanked Rahul Dravid for believing in his abilities with the bat.

“Only one thing that was going on in my mind: this is the kind of innings I’ve been dreaming of. No better way to win the match for the country. Rahul sir told me to play all the balls. I’ve played a few innings with India A and I think he has belief in me. He told me he thinks I’m good enough to be a No. 7,” Deepak Chahar said.
