The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is currently in UAE, overseeing all the preparations of IPL 2020. The much-awaited 13th edition of the IPL will be contested in UAE from September 19 to November 10. Ganguly after completing his mandatory quarantine period is taking no time off and inspecting venues along with his team in the UAE.
Recently Ganguly along with IPL chairman Brijesh Patel, former IPL chief Rajeev Shukla and COO Hemang Amin toured the Sharjah Cricket stadium. The iconic stadium holds the record for hosting the most ODIs in history and is now also all set to host numerous matches of IPL 2020.
“Famous Sharjah Stadium all set to host IPL 2020”, Ganguly wrote in the captain on Instagram.

Sourav Ganguly Blurs Photo Of Pakistani Cricketers
Ganguly updated all fans via social media and shared pictures from his visit to the venue. Interestingly, Ganguly in one of the photos shaded the image of Pakistan cricketers noticeable at the venue. In the backdrop, one of the images shared by Ganguly a large hoarding had the picture of Pakistan cricketers which was a blur.
The BCCI president can be seen standing beside the various officials of BCCI and ECB (Emirates Cricket Board). The visiting party of the BCCI looked satisfied with all the ongoing preparations at the stadium ahead of the much anticipated season.

During the 1990s the Indian team played numerous and historic matches at the Sharjah Cricket stadium. The most famous being the coca-cola cup in 1998 involving Australia, New Zealand and India. It is prominently remembered for the dessert storm courtesy of two back to back hundreds by Sachin Tendulkar against Australia.
Moreover, IPL 2020 will be staged in a completely bio-secure bubble keeping the COVID-19 threat in mind. The players of the franchises will not be permitted to step out of their bubble throughout the IPL this year. It all begins on September 19 as the Defending champs Mumbai Indian will lock horns against Chennai Super Kings at Abu Dhabi.
