After a humiliating defeat in the 1st ODI, India will look to bounce back when they lock horns with South Africa in the penultimate match of the series on January 21 (Friday) at Boland Park in Paarl. The ongoing series is not a part of the ODI Super League, a qualification series for the ICC ODI World Cup.

India struggled in the series opener due to their faulty middle-order, who failed to consolidate on the good start by Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli. The visitors will also like to find ways to pick up wickets in the middle overs and not concede too many runs to keep the game under their control.

On the other hand, South Africa will look to continue the same template with the bat when they take on India in the 2nd ODI. However, they will want to make amends to their death overs that conceded 60+ runs in the final 10 overs against India’s tail of Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah.
