Ahead of their IPL 2025 clash on Wednesday, April 23, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, players and support staff from Mumbai Indians (MI) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), along with match officials, observed a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

As per several reports, the attack, which occurred on Tuesday, April 22, claimed the lives of approximately 28 individuals, primarily tourists. In a solemn act of tribute and unity, both teams took a moment before the match to pay their respects.

The official IPL X account posted a video capturing the emotional moment, accompanied by the caption:

“Let’s all stand for peace and humanity. A minute’s silence was observed in Hyderabad to pay respect to the victims of Pahalgam terror attack. All the players, support staff, commentators & match officials are wearing black armbands for tonight’s game.”

Meanwhile, players from both teams, along with match officials and commentators, are donning black armbands to honor and show solidarity with the victims of the terror attack.

MI and SRH captains honor Pahalgam terror attack victims with a tribute at the toss

Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first in Match 41 of IPL 2025. While addressing the toss, he offered heartfelt condolences to the victims of the tragic attack. As quoted by Cricbuzz, he stated:

“I would like to firstly pass my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack. We as a team and a franchise condemn any such attacks.”

Meanwhile, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins also shared his sentiments on the heartbreaking incident. He stated:

“It has been heartbreaking for us as well, our thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
