Sunil Gavaskar ‘Super Angry’ With Prithvi Shaw, Says Aakash Chopra

Prithvi Shaw scored 7 of 11 balls in Delhi Capitals last game against Kings XI Punjab which they lost. Aakash Chopra while previewing KXIP’s remaining matches said that former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar was very angry with Shaw after his lackluster performance said Chopra. Gavaskar is someone, who has always stressed on the importance of keeping the basics right in the game and the erratic display of Shaw has just irked him big time.

Chopra in his Youtube video has spoken about the progression of Shaw’s innings in that particular game. He also spoke how he has not given himself enough time in this season to settle down in the game that he has failed to score.

“There is a problem with Prithvi Shaw that he is not changing his style of play even after having not scored runs. Sunil Gavaskar was angry during commentary and I was also a little upset, that if you not scored runs in the previous matches, then play a little bit along the ground as your partner was anyway hitting,” Chopra said in a video posted on his YouTube Channel.

Meanwhile, Chopra said that, Shikhar Dhawan looked in no problem at all throughout his innings while the others failed to adapt to the conditions in that particular game in Dubai.

“Shikhar Dhawan played very well. Because he is not batting slowly, he is going at a super-fast speed. He has struck two consecutive tons, which no other player has done to date in the IPL. He has been absolutely outstanding, 207 not out and counting. Because a century in the last match and a century in this match, unbeaten in the last match and unbeaten here as well” Chopra said.

Delhi with 14 points sit at the top of the points table. They are almost certain to make it to the IPL 2020 Playoffs. They play KKR, SRH, MI & RCB in their remaining games in the league stage.
