The cricketer from Uttar Pradesh, Suresh Raina is very quick on his feet. Be it in the slip cordon or in the covers or in boundary, he is very agile and moves very fast. Raina has often won India and his IPL franchises – Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions solely on his fielding, saving important runs.

Meanwhile, the out-of-favour India batsman during a recent chat with SportScreen picked Ajinkya Rahane as the best fielder from India. Hailing Rahane, Suresh Raina said that he gets into a very good position during catching.

“Ajinkya Rahane has better catching skills. I always love his positions while fielding. He has a different kind of power. His body can bend when he moves, that is very different from the rest,” he said. 

“He is a very good slip fielder, he judges the batsman’s movement from behind and anticipates, which is very important as the distance is not much between the slip fielder and batsman. He also practices like that so it makes it easier during matches,” he further added.

Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane has a safe pair of hands in the slips and skipper Virat Kohli offers a lot of trusts in him. Despite that, it comes as a shock that Suresh Raina went with Raina ahead of Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja as the best fielder in the Indian team.
