Chennai Super Kings stalwart Suresh Raina has wished luck to his side ahead of the IPL 2020 opener. Incidentally, Raina pulled out of the competition owing to personal reasons. The news came as a massive shock to all the fans. Although he has hinted to come back, but there are no official announcements yet.

Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence from September 19 (Saturday) with defending champions Mumbai Indians will lock horns with Chennai Super Kings at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. It will be a clash of titans with Chennai and Mumbai being the most consistent side in the history of the league.

Raina wishes Chennai Super Kings

Meanwhile, Chennai’s biggest challenge will be to cover the absence of Raina, who has been a stalwart in the line-up since the start in 2008. Ambati Rayudu is likely to bat at No.3 and his performance will be one of the deciding factors in this campaign. Also, they will miss the service of Harbhajan Singh, who recently said that Chennai has the firepower in their ranks who can substitute him and Raina.

Ahead of the start of Chennai Super Kings campaign, the southpaw took to social media site Instagram, to wish his favourite team all the luck. Meanwhile, this is the first time in IPL history, Suresh Raina will not play an IPL.

“Wishing you all the success boys @chennaiipl. Unimaginable for me that I’m not there today, but all my wishes are with you. Sending you all the good vibes! Go get it! ???? #WhistlePodu,” Raina wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina also indicated that he might return to Chennai Super Kings and is continuing his training. However, he stressed that he needs to take care of the first-hand responsibilities first before thinking about the rest.

“You never know, you might see me in the camp again. First, I have to take care of my responsibilities here and then am ready,” Raina had said earlier to NDTV.
