The Chennai Super Kings will take on the Mumbai Indians in the opening clash of IPL 2020. Since landing in the UAE, things have not gone according to plan for CSK. The Dhoni-led side this time will be without the services of their two seasoned players. Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina owing to personal reasons pulled out from the IPL this year.

Ahead of the opening match of CSK, Harbhajan is confident that the franchise will find a way to perform even without him and Raina. The off-spinner stated the CSK has a very strong backup of players for every department that is why they have been such a consistent side in the IPL. He is confident that the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Shane Watson and Dhoni himself will perform even better in their absence in the UAE.

CSK Will Still Go Forward Without Me And Raina- Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan said, “CSK is one of those sides which has a lot of experience. Yes, they don’t have Harbhajan Singh, they don’t have Suresh Raina, that’s not gonna bother them too much. They have got a wealth of experience of Shane Watson, MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja”.

“Yes, I am gonna miss playing with CSK this year. I don’t know how much they will miss me. They will still go forward without me or Suresh or no matter whoever”, the veteran spinner said while speaking to India Today.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan further added that right now his family is his priority than playing cricket. He also wished his team ahead of their opening clash and is hopeful that CSK will once again perform exceedingly well in IPL 2020

“I thought it’s important for me to be with the family and spend some time with them rather than being there in the park. I am gonna miss playing but at the same time wishing my team CSK all the very best for the tournament and I am sure they will do what they are known for”, Harbhajan Singh further added.

Furthermore, in a repeat clash of last year’s IPL final, Mumbai Indians will face the Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural match of IPL 2020. The match will be contested today at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and will begin on 7:30 IST.
