Rohit Sharma on verge of breaking Kohli’s record against CSK
The RCB skipper Virat Kohli holds the record for most runs as captain against CSK with 747 runs. Rohit Sharma is not far behind as he just needs another 42 runs to overtake Kohli’s record for the most runs against CSK as skipper in the IPL. So far the elegant batsman has scored 705 runs in 27 runs and will be eyeing a personal milestone in the first match itself.
Moreover, Rohit is also the third-highest run-getter in IPL history and he is only behind Kohli and Suresh Raina. He has so far scored 4898 runs in his IPL career at an average of 31.6 and a strike rate of 130.8 including one century.
Also, Before the COVID-19 pandemic took over globally, Rohit was previously out of action with a calf injury, which he attained during the India-New Zealand T20Is in February 2020. Therefore, he missed out on the preceding three ODIs and two Tests.
Furthermore, Mumbai Indians holds an edge against Chennai Super Kings as they have won their last 5 matches against Dhoni’s men including last year’s IPL final. The match begins at 7:30 IST from the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
