I Was Expecting To Be Picked In Team India- Suryakumar Yadav

Unfortunately, his name wasn’t included which surprised the cricketing world. The 30-year-old has now reacted and declared that he was expecting to be selected in India’s squad as he has been consistently scoring runs in white-ball cricket.

“I was disappointed when the Indian team for the Australian tour was announced because I was expecting to be picked as I was batting well and scoring runs. I have been scoring a lot of runs in white-ball cricket over the last 2 years, not just in the IPL alone,” Suryakumar told Sports Tak.

The Mumbai Indians batsman also revealed that he was so disappointed that be couldn’t even divert his mind by training in the gym. He went on to add that he didn’t feel like having dinner that night and wanted to stay alone.

“I was training in the gym on selection day as we had an off. I wanted to divert my attention somewhere else and not think too much about the selection. When the team was announced I couldn’t even complete my training in the gym as I told you that I was disappointed”, he said.

“I was then trying to think if there was any particular spot where I could have played in the Indian team and all that. I didn’t feel like having dinner that night, wasn’t speaking much with anybody and kept mostly to myself”, Suryakumar said after team India.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar certainly deserved to be included at least in India’s T20 squad. The men in blue lack a batsman who can accelerate from ball one and Suryakumar would have been the ideal choice to fill the void.

Nevertheless, it is expected that he will soon be of part the Indian squad. The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and head coach of India Ravi Shastri also acknowledged Suryakumar during the IPL and advised him to stay patient as his time will soon come.
