T20 World Cup 2021: MS Dhoni’s Old Video Goes Viral After India’s Loss Against Pakistan

Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni’s old video has gone viral on social media after India’s defeat against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 on Sunday.

The Indian team was outplayed by Pakistan in all the departments. Pacer Shaheen Afridi made early inroads in India’s top-order in the first innings. He dismissed both the openers, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul cheaply. Indian skipper, Virat Kohli tried to steady the batting line-up, however, he did not receive much support from the other end.

India managed a target of 152 runs. Both the Pakistani openers led their team’s chase. Babar Azam scored 68 runs off 52 deliveries, while Mohammad Rizwan scored 79 off 55 delivered. Pakistan chased down comfortably in 18 overs, with 10 wickets in hand.

A video featuring India’s mentor for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, MS Dhoni went viral on social media. The video is from 2016 when India defeated Pakistan by six wickets. During that time, India was on an unbeaten streak of 11-0 against Pakistan in both the 50 overs and the 20 overs ICC World Cup events. The then Indian skipper, MS Dhoni after the win said at the press conference:

“But it is a fact that we will definitely lose at some point or the other. This record is not always going to be the same. It did not happen today, but after 10 years, after 20 years, or after 50 years such an opportunity will definitely come when Pakistan team will beat us.”
