Meanwhile, Tom Banton was a part of the England squad, which played that three-match T20 series against Australia. Although he had a difficult time adjusting in the middle-order against the Aussies, Banton was in his flow against Pakistan.

The top-order batsman played some unconventional shots to surprise the bowlers and can be a package for the Kolkata Knight Riders. However, with a cap of four overseas players, Banton might find it difficult to break into the team. Sunil Narine, Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, and Pat Cummins are likely to be the four foreigners to start from Kolkata.

Currently, the cricketers will undergo six days of quarantine as per the prevailing rules in Abu Dhabi. They will have to give COVID-19 negative tests before joining the squad. But KKR CEO Venky Mysore confirmed that the players will be available from the first game.

Kolkata play their IPL 2020 opener against defending champions Mumbai Indians on September 23.
