Former cricketers Venkatesh Prasad and Aakash Chopra got into a Twitter war on Tuesday, February 21 over KL Rahul’s inclusion in Team India for the last two test matches of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy. Prasad slammed Aakash, saying that the former opener in his Youtube video, misquoted him and alleged that the pacer has an agenda against KL Rahul.

Venkatesh Prasad has been vocal about his thoughts regarding KL Rahul’s inclusion in Team India. The opener has been battling a bad patch, struggling to score runs. The former pacer alleged ‘favoritism’ in the Indian team over the under-fire cricketer’s selection. Chopra responded to Prasad’s tweet and urged him to refrain from criticism in the middle of a match. In his Youtube video, the former batter analyzed statistics shared by Venkatesh Prasad and argued against them.

Reacting to Aakash Chopra’s Youtube video, Venkatesh Prasad tweeted, “So my friend Aakash Chopra after making a vile video on YouTube this morning where he calls me an agenda peddle, conveniently and cleverly misquotes me, removes Mayank’s average of 70 at home, wants to gag views which are not in line with what he believes but wanted Rohit out.”

“I have no agenda against any player, maybe there are others who have. Difference of opinion is fine but calling contrary views as apna personal agenda and Twitter par mat laayein is funny for @cricketaakash, considering he has made a great career by airing his views,” he added.

Further, Venkatesh Prasad pointed out an old tweet by Aakash Chopra, where the opener had raised questions over Rohit Sharma’s selection ahead of Ajinkya Rahane.

Venkatesh Prasad responds to Aakash Chopra’s invitation for a chat on Youtube

After Venkatesh Prasad’s Twitter thread, former India opener Aakash Chopra invited the pacer to have a chat on his Youtube channel. He expressed that messages might get lost in translation, and wants to have a video chat with him. Aakash Chopra wrote,

“Venky bhai, msgs are getting lost in translation. You here. Me on YT. I invite you to come on a Video Chat…we can do it Live. Difference on opinions is nice…lets do it properlyI’ll not have any sponsors on it & nobody will make money out of it. Up for it? You have my number”

However, Venkatesh Prasad refused to feature in Aakash Chopra’s YouTube video. He stated that his tweets were enough to clear his statement. Prasad added that he doe not want to engage on the subject further.
