Over the years we have seen multiple cricketers launch their biopics based on their illustrious career. In the past we watched MS Dhoni – The Untold Story, Mohammed Azharuddin’s Azhar and another biopic that is upcoming is ’83’ which is a biopic based on the famous 1983 World Cup win of the Indian side.

Now in recent times, we might just end up seeing another biopic and this time its the biopic of Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan who has been a prolific player for the Sri Lankan side in the past and is also the highest wicket-taker in the history of test cricket.

Vijay Sethupathi Is Perfect Fit for My Role: Muttiah Muralitharan

Recently when he appeared on Star Sports, he was asked who would he love to cast as the main lead in his own biopic to which Murali said that whenever the script is ready he sees no one other than Indian actor Vijay Sethupathi as the perfect fit for his role.

“Once the script was ready, we thought the best fit for this movie is non-other than Vijay Sethupathi. I think he is a very talented actor and he will nail the bowling expressions, I trust Vijay completely as he is one of the greatest actors and I have complete faith that he’ll definitely do wonders for the film,” Muttiah Muralitharan said on Star Sports.

Vijay Sethupathi too revealed that the script of Muttiah Muralitharan’s biopic is an interesting one. The  Indian actor has been spending more time with the Cricketer trying to understand the Sri Lankan legend. For him, the off-spinner is a charming character and a very interesting personality.

“It’s really nice to listen to his story and spend time with Murali sir. He is like a stamp, he makes a mark wherever he goes with his charming character and personality,” Muttiah Muralitharan said on Star Sports.
