Virat Kohli was once again at his best in a run chase and played a key role in India’s memorable win against Australia. Kohli and his men registered yet another T20I series win and made it 11 consecutive wins in a row. It was a complete team effort from the men in blue as they defeated Australia in the second T20I with 2 balls to spare.
Chasing a steep total of 195 runs, India needed their skipper Kohli to stand up and contribute in the run chase. Kohli who missed out in the previous encounter and looked determined to continue his great record while chasing in T20Is. Much like he always does Virat Kohli initially took his time and rotated the strike and stayed away from taking any risks.
Virat Kohli Does An AB De Villiers And Executes An Unbelievable Scoop Shot
When the Indian captain saw the asking run-rate climbing up he went into overdrive and electrified the SCG with some outrageous shots. The stroke that made everyone stood up and marvel at his genius was his unreal scoop shot that went for six as everyone tagged him as Virat de Villiers.
The world saw him play it during IPL against CSK and he once again pulled it out and stunned the Australians. Kohli shuffled across his off stump and scooped Andrew Tye for a six over the deep fine leg fence. The Kohli scoop shot was probably the highlight of the match as it reminded everyone of Ab de Villiers.
The scoop shot on one knee is trademark AB de Villiers which we have seen him execute throughout his historic career. Virat Kohli gave a tribute to his good friend and IPL teammate which he even admitted in the post-match presentation.
It (scoop over fine leg) was a bit of funny moment, surprised myself there, I will send AB (De Villiers) a text tonight and see what he thinks of it”, said Kohli.
