Team India cricketer Virat Kohli continued his fantastic run in the 2022 T20 World Cup against the Netherlands on Thursday, October 27 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He slammed his second fifty of the tournament in as many games. The veteran batter broke several records during his knock.

Virat Kohli slammed an unbeaten 82 against Pakistan earlier in the tournament. He continued the brilliant form into the next game, scoring a 44-ball 62, with three boundaries and a couple of sixes against the Netherlands. The right-handed batter put together a 95-run stand with Suryakumar Yadav, to power India to a match-winning total of 179 runs.

With this knock, Virat Kohli became the second-leading run-getter in the T20 World Cups. He put behind Chris Gayle in the tally, scoring 989 runs in 23 matches. The Indian cricketer has a stunning average of 89.90 in the tournament. Kohli is just 11 runs away from joining Mahela Jayawardene, in the illustrious 1000-runs club.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also completed 900 runs in T20 World Cups. He is fourth on the list of leading run-getters with 904 runs in 35 matches. Rohit Sharma scored a 39-ball 53 against the Netherlands in the recent T20 World Cup match.

Suryakumar Yadav becomes leading run-scorer in men’s T20Is in 2022

Team India Suryakumar Yadav has been a prolific run-scorer for the team in white-ball cricket. He has been in great form and performed like a match-winner this year for India, especially in T20Is. In 25 matches, Suryakumar Yadav has scored 867 runs in 25 matches, a staggering strike rate of 184.46.

The 32-year-old slammed 51 runs off just 25 balls, against the Netherlands in the recent T20 World Cup match. The Indian cricketer went past Mohammad Rizwan in the most T20I runs in the 2022 tally. Overall, Suryakumar Yadav averages 39.67 in 36 T20Is, scoring 1111 including 10 fifties and a century.
