Virat Kohli smashed his second fifty in this edition of the T20 World Cup against the Netherlands. He scored 62 of 44 balls which guided India to 179-2. With helping hands from Rohit Sharma (53 of 39 balls) and Surya Kumar Yadav (51 of 25 balls), who seems to do everything right in this format.

India won the toss and opted to bat at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Vice-Captain KL Rahul was dismissed cheaply to bring the king to the crease. He and Rohit Sharma stitched a partnership of 73 runs to ensure t steady flow of runs. Kohli played in his typical fashion of starting slow and playing aggressive shots after being well set.

Consecutive fifties from Virat Kohli have silenced all who questioned his ability to play in this ever-evolving format. Let’s look at some of the Twitter reactions to his fifty:

India register second win of T20 World Cup 2022

India set a total which would have been difficult to chase by the Dutch and a good start was crucial for them. But they were deprived of this as Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled 2 maiden overs and picked up the wicket of Vikramjit Singh.

Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami picked up 2 wickets and a lone wicket respectively. Axar Patel who bowled only a single over in the previous game bowled his full quota today picking up a couple of wickets.

Another positive for the team today was the return of form for captain Rohit Sharma who has been struggling with it recently. His coming into the form will only strengthen this Indian team.

It was a well-rounded performance by India with both bat and ball. With this win, India topped their group with 4 points overtaking South Africa who won earlier today. They also have a healthy net run rate of +1.425.  India will be next seen battling it out for the top position of the table against the Proteas on Sunday at Perth.
