The captain of the current Indian team Virat Kohli has jumped to the fourth spot in the latest ICC T20I rankings released for the batsmen. After not having the great red-ball cricket series against England at home, the captain led from the front helping his side to series victory by 3-2 in the T20 series where he amassed 231 runs in 5 games at a brilliant average of 115.40. Kohli was in the fifth-place before the start of the series against England.

Apart from Virat Kohli, the opening batsman Rohit Sharma has jumped to 14th spot in the ICC T20I rankings after his surreal performance (34-ball 64 runs) in the final game of the series where he opened alongside Virat Kohli. The contender of future team India captain Shreyas Iyer has also made a huge rise in his T20I rankings as he jumped to 26th place – his career-best rankings).

Suryakumar Yadav makes rapid gain in ICC T20I Rankings

The current wicket-keeper batsman caught the attention of everyone with his whirlwind shots be it a Test match or T20 game. Rishabh Pant finds himself in the 69th spot while debutant Suryakumar Yadav, who impressed with scores of 57 and 32 has made a massive jump to occupy the 66th place.

In the bowling department, senior Team India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar after his man of the match performance in the final ODI moved to 24th followed by Hardik Pandya who has occupied 78th place in the ICC T2I0 rankings. For England, Dawid Malan remains at the number one spot followed by Jos Buttler jumps to 18th place in the rankings.

The Barbados-born England fast bowler Jofra Archer moved to the 22nd spot followed by Adil Rashid to the 4th spot and Mark Wood to 27th in the rankings. The number one spot in the ICC T20I rankings of bowlers is consumed by South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamshi who has reached the number one spot for the first time in his career after replacing Rashid khan.

While in the ICC ODI rankings, Jonny Bairstow moved to 7th position which is his career-best rankings followed by the match-winning knock of 98 runs by Shikhar Dhawan helped him to attain 15th spot in the ICC men’s ODI rankings.
