The India and Australia contest is just around the corner and as expected Virat Kohli is everywhere. The Indian captain is once again seizing all the limelight before India’s tour of Australia kicks off on 27 November. Kohli this time will have a shortened tour as he will return to India to attend the birth of his first child.

Still, the Australian media is hyping the tour around Kohli because of his terrific record in Australia. Kohli will be captaining team India in the ODI and T20I series. Then after the conclusion of the first Test at Adelaide, Kohli will leave Australia and miss the last 3 Tests as his newborn is expected to arrive in January.

We Can Claim Virat Kohli’s Child As Australia- Allan Border

Recently in the build-up of India vs Australia, Allan Border has made a unique proposal to the Indian captain. Border stated that he hopes that Kohli should consider about having his first child in Australia. The former Australia captain humorously added that if this happens Australia can claim Kohli’s offspring as an Australian.

“We were thinking he might think about having his newborn baby here because we can claim his offspring as Australian”, Border jokingly said during a media interaction.

Meanwhile, Kohli has always had a love and hate relationship with Australia. However, in the last few years, Australia has naturally hailed Kohli has the greatest all-format batsman of all time. Now with Kohli missing the last 3 Test match, Border firmly believes that the home side will have the advantage and will eventually win back the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

“The one thing that is in Australia’s favour is Virat Kohli playing only the first Test. I think that is a big OUT for India. He is irreplaceable at the moment as a batsman and a leader. Should be 2-1 to Australia”, said Border.
