Indian cricket’s iconic figure, Virat Kohli, along with his renowned actress spouse, Anushka Sharma, joyously disclosed the arrival of their newborn son, Akaay, via a heartfelt social media announcement on Tuesday. Speculations surrounding Anushka’s pregnancy were put to rest when former South African cricketer AB de Villiers corroborated the news in a social media update. Kohli himself proudly shared that Akaay graced the world on February 15.

The birth of Virat and Anushka’s son resonated not only throughout India but also reverberated across the border in Pakistan, where enthusiasts commemorated by distributing sweets. The jubilant fans not only extended their felicitations to Virat but also expressed their hopes for Akaay to someday surpass his father’s cricketing milestones on the pitch.

Undoubtedly, Pakistani fans aspire for Virat’s son Akaay to tread in his father’s illustrious footsteps, akin to Arjun Tendulkar’s emulation of his father Sachin Tendulkar’s legacy.

Virat Kohli posted: “With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika’s little brother into this world! We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time.”

Before the birth of Akaay, Kohli and Anushka had already embraced parenthood with their three-year-old daughter, Vamika. Kohli’s recent cricketing endeavours saw him in action during the second Test against South Africa in Cape Town in January, where India emerged victorious by seven wickets.

Virat Kohli contributed scores of 46 and 12 across the two innings. Presently, India maintains a commanding lead of 2-1 in the ongoing five-match Test series against England.
