With the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) done and dusted, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has picked his IPL 2020 XI. Sehwag made some surprising choices along with picking Virat Kohli as the skipper ahead of Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma.

The former opener picked right hand-left hand combination of KL Rahul and Devdutt Padikkal to open the innings. Rahul finished as the highest run-scorer in the competition while Padikkal was the emerging player. The left-handed batsman from Royal Challengers Bangalore earned praise from all quarters for his stylish batting against the new ball.

Virender Sehwag picked Suryakumar Yadav from Mumbai Indians at one drop, followed by the RCB skipper, Virat Kohli at No. 4, and the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain David Warner at No. 5. Sehwag chose Kohli as the skipper and stated that he is an aggressive player and captain who can carry the team alongside him

“He (Suryakumar) has performed brilliantly since the last three seasons and he’s shown consistency. At No. 4 I’ve picked Kohli. He always scores runs and hence I’ve given him captaincy as well. He’s an aggressive player and captain and can take the team along with him.” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.
